She had a few issues to start with which we have worked through and she is now a well balanced pup. Unfortunately the one issue I have not been able to overcome is her jealousy and bullying towards my soppy 10 year old GSD. I can't bear to see my older dog so unhappy so I have made the hard decision to try to find Kitty a more suitable home.
I feel she needs to be an only dog, or with a dog who will teach her manners. My Kooji is just a pushover and lets herself be bullied. Kitty is generally good with dogs she meets and in other dogs' homes. She would make a great family dog where she had more than one person to attend to her. She is good with children of all ages, but boisterous as you would expect.
Description: Kitty is Collie x Huntaway from farm parents. 6 months old, DOB 23/10/2023.
She is short coated, black and tan with white markings. Currently weighs about 17kg. Rather lean and leggy.
I think she has great potential for agility etc. She is very bright, very fast and fearless. She has quickly learned basic commands but is a stubborn teenager. Completely clean in the house. Not mouthy, and has grown out of chewing except for very tempting items left about (my fault). Being half Huntaway she is noisy when excited, but quiet in the house and as far as I know when left. She sleeps happily in a crate and travels well in a crate in my van.Rehoming Criteria: To be determined with potential owner. I would not want to see her kennelled. Fine with brave cats but is a bit full on, only wanting to play.Child friendly: YesCat friendly: YesAge: 6 monthsSex: BitchNeutered: NoVaccinated: YesMicro-chipped: YesFlea/Wormed: YesCost: P.O.A.Where dog can be seen: At my home in South Witham Lincolnshire, or could meet part way if necessary NG33 5QJ (map) |
Breed: Labrador x German ShepherdContact: Gilly Minnican GL6 8AD (map)Tel: +447980934164Website: www.starfishdogrescue.co.uk Date Added: 16 Apr 2024 | NARLA History: Meet Narla. She's a bright and loving Labrador x GSD who is ready for her Forever Home. She is currently being fostered in Devon in adult family home with other dogs and visiting grandchildren.
Description: Narla, a delightful 5-month-old Labrador x German Shepherd mix, has captured our hearts during her time in foster care in Devon. Her journey with us began through no fault of her own, transitioning from her first family's home to our foster carers.
Upon arrival, it was clear Narla hadn't been exposed to much of the world, but her resilience and eagerness to learn have been nothing short of inspiring. Each new experience has been met with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. From timidly navigating town walks to romping freely with other dogs, Narla has blossomed into a confident explorer.
What truly sets Narla apart is her endearing temperament. Though a bit exuberant in the mornings before her walk, she quickly settles —albeit one with a penchant for gardening among the flowerpots. She would be perfect for agility.

Her recall is impeccable—spending a day at the beach with our visiting grandchildren off-leash was a joyous testament to her trust and adaptability. Even the sight of joggers doesn't ruffle her calm demeanor.

Narla's love for companionship shines brightest when she's with other dogs, especially her playmate Betty. Their antics are a daily highlight.

Incredibly bright and trainable, Narla is eager to please and quick to learn, as evidenced by the numerous videos showcasing her progress. She's poised to become a wonderful companion for the right family—a family that understands her need for continued training and exposure to the world.
Narla travels well, sleeps in a crate in the kitchen with others, is fine being left for a few hours and is house trained.
Rehoming Criteria: We're looking for a forever home that matches Narla's enthusiasm for life. She thrives with engagement and activity, making her ideal for someone committed to ongoing training and plenty of outdoor adventures. Narla isn't just a dog; she's a potential best friend waiting for the perfect match. If you're seeking a loyal companion and have the time and dedication to nurture her bright spirit, Narla could be the missing piece to your family puzzle. An environment with another dog or dogs for company would be ideal, although not mandatory. She is fully vaccinated, chipped, worm/fleaed - too young to be spayed you will be expected to do this as part of the adoption agreement when she has finished growing. We will not home her with entire dogs.
If you can match what she is getting now or better it you are the right match for her and we look forward to hearing from you - you can email us and we will send our questionnaire so we can find out more about you at starfishdogrescue@hotmail.co.uk Child friendly: YesCat friendly: YesAge: 5 monthsSex: BitchNeutered: NoVaccinated: YesMicro-chipped: YesFlea/Wormed: YesCost: P.O.A.Where dog can be seen: Tavistock, Devon GL6 8AD (map) |
